Still the best. Sci-Fi's equivalent of The Godfather or Casablanca still holds up as powerful film. Widely acclaimed for its theme of peace and its warning about the dangers inherent in the nuclear arms race, it's also a great story. A spaceship lands in Washington and the aliens on board try to deliver a message to earth. The alien has trouble understanding humanity and humans sure don't understand him. The ending is even more relevant today than fifty years ago when the film was made. Well made, very watchable.
