We were elated when we received an email from Mr. Lee Mason in Middlesex, England concerning a batch of Forbidden Planet memorabilia. Read all about it here.
Forbidden Planet is one of those movies that you watch with a permanent grin on your face, 98 minutes of pure nostalgia. Adapted from The Tempest, it starred Leslie Neilson, Anne Francis, Walter Pidgeon, Warren Stevens and of course: Robby the Robot. To viewers in 1956, Robby was a kind of benevolent brother to the much more ominous and menacing Gort. It is a cult classic, which (along with the Day the Earth Stood Still, the Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and THEM!) helped usher in an age of serious sci-fi movies. It is also the Webmaster’s favorite sci-fi film, and in my own top 5.
Knowing that, we at ClassicSciFi.Com were elated when we received an email from Mr. Lee Mason in Middlesex, England concerning a batch of Forbidden Planet memorabilia.
These original and extraordinary pieces include:

- A program that opens up to a movie broadside.
- Signed photos of James Drury, Leslie Neilson, Anne Francis, and Robert Dix.
- The centerpiece, James Brittain’s ORIGINAL SHOOTING SCRIPT of the film, in an envelope labeled with the MGM logo dated 3-10-55.
