Alien (1979) (4/4)

Deep in outer space, a beat up space freighter is ordered to land on a deserted planet and investigate a distress call. Terror builds as an alien is discovered on the ship and begins killing the crew. This is about as perfect as a movie can be. You're scared out of your wits before you even see the alien. Ripley, the hero, is the strongest woman character since Scarlett O'Hara.
