Being There (1979) (3.5/4)

Being There

A very clever satire. A gardener who has spent his entire life on a walled in estate is thrown out into the streets of Washington D.C. His inane pronouncements, based totally on viewing the world only through television, are treated as profound philosophical statements. It took Peter Sellers about eight years to get this film made. "That's me", he said referring to the main character.
