A couple of years ago, Sci-Fi Entertainment magazine (the Sci-Fi Channel’s magazine) published their list of the Top 100 Science Fiction films of all time. Though we don’t rank the great movies here on ClassicSciFi.Com, we always thought these films represent the creme de la creme of the genre. As we looked at the list we were glad that some films made the list, and astonished by others that were ranked so high or made the list at all. For example, Independence Day (very hot when the list was assembled), while surely a top notch FX film, has no business being at #16; The Thing, Them, Frankenstein, and King Kong should be much higher; and Forbidden Planet undoubtedly is #1. So we decided to compare our picks with the Sci-Fi Top 100 and lo and behold, 59 of the Sci-Fi Top 100, have been here all long. You may argue with the rankings, but here is the union of the Sci-Fi Top 100 of All Time, and ClassicSciFi.Com.
